There's a new "paint" application for free on the internet that is basically photoshop, but browser based. After I found this, I jumped right in.
http://www.sumopaint.com/
And BROWSER based photoshop? It was a sheltered nerds dream! ;D
I had a reference pic from photobucket that looked like this:
It was just a simple face portrait thingy.
I wasn't sure what to do with it, since I've never photoshopped, so I decided to create an "oil painting".
I just basically used the brush tool to make an abstract work of art.It took about an hour, which is about how long it takes me to get utterly annoyed with the band "Shiny Toy Guns" on repeat.
I actually made three versions of this, perfectionist that I am, but one was too sucky to keep, and the best one did not save unfortuanatley. Here's the second best. :P
Overall, I think it was a pretty good second best image. XD
The better one had the eyes more gradual, striking, and normal looking. The mouth wasn't as PINK and popping out like that. Last, I made the most beautiful eyelashes on that woman.
Jeez. Makes me hate my laptop for screwing up when I was saving it. *.*
Sumopaint is a really great tool that I plan to use again. It was basically photoshop, except the loading times slow to a crawl if you have a complicated picture with many colors/layers.
One of these days I'll get around to tweaking it. It could be SO much better.
And look up these "Shiny Toy Guns" songs on YouTube, to find out why I was so ticked off after an hour of them on repeat. (AWESOME band, repetitive music. XD)
